केन्द्रीय सड़क परिवहन एवं राजमार्ग मंत्री नितिन गडकरी से ऋषिकेश नगर निगम की महापौर अनीता ममगाईं ने मुलाकात कर अंग वस्त्र व स्मृति चिन्ह देकर उनका स्वागत किया।
इस दौरान केंद्रीय मंत्री गडकरी ने कहा कि दिल्ली से ऋषिकेश तक वह सड़क मार्ग से आए हैं, इसका यही कारण है कि वह राजमार्ग की स्थिति को भी धरातल पर देखना चाहते हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि श्यामपुर फाटक में फ्लाईओवर सहित अन्य समस्याओं का त्वरित निस्तारण किया जाएगा।
ऋषिकेश-बदरीनाथ राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग पर स्थित होटल आनंद काशी में ठहरे केंद्रीय मंत्री नितिन गडकरी को महापौर ने अवगत कराया कि देवभूमि आने वाले हजारों पर्यटकों एवं श्रद्वालुओं को श्यामपुर रेलवे फाटक पर लगने वाले जाम से रोजाना जूझना पड़ता है। विशेष रूप से सप्ताहांत, चार धाम यात्रा और कावड़ यात्रा के वक्त 15 ग्राम पंचायतों और नगर निगम क्षेत्र के नागरिक इस समस्या से सबसे ज्यादा प्रभावित रहते हैं।
इसके स्थाई समाधान के लिए यहां फ्लाईओवर बनाया जाना बेहद जरूरी है। केन्द्रीय मंत्री गडकरी ने उन्हें आश्वस्त किया कि जल्द ही ये कार्य योजना धरातल पर साकार की जायेगी। महापौर ने जानकारी देते हुए बताया कि केन्द्रीय मंत्री ने बताया कि दिल्ली से ऋषिकेश तक की सड़कों की स्थिति का सही जायजा लेने के लिए ही सड़क मार्ग से यहां आये हैं।
वर्ष 2024 शुरू होते ही देहरादून से दिल्ली का सफर दो घंटे में पूरा होगा। लोग हवाई मार्ग से सफर करना भूल जायेंगे। ऋषिकेश की ख्याति के अनुरूप ही यहां भी सड़कों का जाल बिछाया जायेगा। इस अवसर पर महापौर ने केन्द्रीय सड़क एवं परिवहन मंत्री का आभार भी जताया। भाजपा के पूर्व प्रदेश अध्यक्ष मदन कौशिक ने भी उनसे मुलाकात की।
