उत्तराखंड के नैनीताल स्थित कार्बेट टाइगर रिजर्व में बाघों की नई गणना शुरू हो गई है। जबकि पुरानी गणना का परिणाम अभी तक जारी नहीं किया गया है। नई गणना से बाघों की आबादी और उनके संरक्षण के प्रयासों का पता चलेगा।
भले ही कार्बेट टाइगर रिजर्व (सीटीआर) में राष्ट्रीय बाघ संरक्षण प्राधिकरण (एनटीसीए) की ओर से अखिल भारतीय बाघ गणना का कार्य शुरू हो गया है। लेकिन कार्बेट में बाघों की आंतरिक गणना की रिपोर्ट अभी जारी नहीं हो पाई। रिपोर्ट जारी करने के लिए प्रमुख वन संरक्षक की अनुमति का इंतजार है।
राष्ट्रीय बाघ संरक्षण प्राधिकरण हर चार साल में अखिल भारतीय स्तर पर देश के सभी टाइगर रिजर्व में एक साथ बाघ गणना का कार्य कराता है। इसके अलावा टाइगर रिजर्व को भी अपने स्तर से चार साल में एक या दो बार आतंरिक गणना कराने के लिए भी कहा गया है। ताकि बाघों की लगातार निगरानी होती रहे। इसी के तहत आंतरिक गणना 2024 के अंत दिसंबर में आरंभ हुई थी।
फरवरी तक बाघ गणना चली थी। गणना का कार्य पूरा होने के बाद अप्रैल तक रिपोर्ट तैयार की गई थी। आंतरिक बाघ गणना की पूरी विस्तृत रिपोर्ट जारी करने की अनुमति के लिए कार्बेट टाइगर रिजर्व की ओर से मुख्य वन्य जीव प्रतिपालक व प्रमुख वन संरक्षक उत्तराखंड को भेजी गई थी। लेकिन अभी तक उच्च वनाधिकारियों की ओर से आंतरिक बाघ गणना की रिपोर्ट जारी करने की अनुमति नहीं मिल पाई है। सूत्र बताते हैं कि पूर्व में रामनगर आए वन मंत्री या मुख्यमंत्री से भी रिपोर्ट जारी करने की योजना थी, लेकिन समयाभाव की वजह से इसे जारी नहीं किया जा सका।
अब एनटीसीए की ओर से अखिल भारतीय बाघ गणना का कार्य शुरू हो गया है। कार्बेट में 20 दिसंबर से बाघ गणना का कार्य शुरू होगा। हालांकि एनटीसीए की ओर से कराए जाने वाली बाघ गणना का रिजल्ट ही अखिल भारतीय स्तर पर जारी किया जाता है। कार्बेट के उपनिदेशक राहुल मिश्रा ने बताया कि आंतरिक बाघ गणना की रिपोर्ट जारी करने की अनुमति प्रमुख वन संरक्षक स्तर से जारी होनी है। जल्द ही रिपोर्ट जारी होने की उम्मीद है।
