उत्तराखंड से रिक्त होने जा रही राज्यसभा की एक सीट के चुनाव के लिए भाजपा प्रत्याशी डा. कल्पना सैनी मंगलवार को नामांकन पत्र दाखिल करेंगी। विधानसभा में भाजपा के पास दो-तिहाई बहुमत होने के चलते कल्पना सैनी की जीत तय मानी जा रही है।
राज्यसभा चुनाव के लिए मंगलवार को नामांकन पत्र दाखिल करने का अंतिम दिन है। बीते दिवस ही भाजपा ने राज्य पिछड़ा वर्ग आयोग की अध्यक्ष डा. कल्पना सैनी को राज्यसभा चुनाव के लिए प्रत्याशी घोषित किया। डा. सैनी मंगलवार को दोपहर दो बजे नामांकन पत्र दाखिल करेंगी।

भाजपा के प्रदेश मीडिया प्रभारी मनवीर सिंह चौहान के अनुसार इससे पहले भाजपा प्रत्याशी डा. सैनी दोपहर 12 बजे प्रदेश भाजपा कार्यालय पहुंचेंगी। यहीं से वह नामांकन के लिए विधानसभा जाएंगी। मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी, भाजपा के राष्ट्रीय महामंत्री एवं प्रदेश प्रभारी दुष्यंत कुमार गौतम, प्रदेश अध्यक्ष मदन कौशिक, प्रदेश सह प्रभारी रेखा वर्मा, प्रदेश महामंत्री संगठन अजेय कुमार समेत पार्टी के अन्य वरिष्ठ नेता भी उपस्थित रहेंगे।
प्रत्याशी खड़ा नहीं करेगी कांग्रेस
राज्यसभा सदस्य की रिक्त एक सीट के लिए 10 जून को होने वाले चुनाव में कांग्रेस प्रत्याशी खड़ा नहीं करेगी। विधानसभा में कम संख्याबल होने के कारण पार्टी ने प्रतीकात्मक लड़ाई से पीछे हटने के संकेत दिए हैं।
सत्तारूढ़ दल भाजपा राज्यसभा सीट के चुनाव के लिए तैयारी में जुटी है। पार्टी के पास विधानसभा में दो तिहाई बहुमत है। वहीं कांग्रेस के विधायकों की संख्या मात्र 19 है। संख्याबल पर्याप्त नहीं होने के कारण कांग्रेस राज्यसभा की एक सीट के लिए होने वाले चुनाव में प्रत्याशी खड़ा करने के पक्ष में नहीं है।
प्रदेश कांग्रेस महामंत्री संगठन मथुरादत्त जोशी ने कहा कि पार्टी के पास राज्यसभा सीट पर चुनाव लडऩे के लिए संख्याबल नहीं है। पार्टी का अभी तक प्रत्याशी खड़ा करने का कोई इरादा नहीं है।
