काफी सोच विचार के बाद हुआ हाईकोर्ट को नैनीताल से हल्द्वानी शिफ्ट करने का निर्णयराज्य कैबिनेट ने हाईकोर्ट को नैनीताल से हल्द्वानी शिफ्ट करने का निर्णय एकदम नहीं लिया। सरकार ने व्यापक विचार-विमर्श के बाद यह निर्णय लिया है। सरकार का मानना है कि इससे न केवल हाईकोर्ट तक आवागमन सुगम होगा, बल्कि पर्यटन नगरी नैनीताल को भी भीड़ के बढ़ते दबाव से मुक्ति मिलेगी।

लंबे समय से किया जा रहा था विचार:
नैनीताल हाईकोर्ट को शिफ्ट करने को लेकर लंबे समय से विचार किया जा रहा था। हाईकोर्ट को नैनीताल से शिफ्ट करने के विरोध और पक्ष में अलग-अलग तर्क दिए जा रहे थे। यह विषय लगातार सरकार के समक्ष भी उठाया जा रहा था। आखिरकार सरकार ने इसे शिफ्ट करने का निर्णय ले लिया।

नैनीताल काफी महंगा शहर:
माना जा रहा है कि नैनीताल में वादकारियों को सबसे अधिक परेशानी यहां ठहरने व खाने को लेकर होती है। पर्यटन शहर होने के नाते नैनीताल काफी महंगा है। इसे देखते हुए आमजन के लिए यहां अपने मुकदमों के सिलसिले में आना आसान नहीं होता। इतना ही नहीं, यहां के लिए सीधी रेल सेवा नहीं है।

सफर लंबा होने के साथ ही महंगा भी:
विशेष रूप से गढ़वाल मंडल से आने वाले व्यक्ति पहले रेल से हल्द्वानी पहुंचते हैं और फिर नैनीताल। इस कारण उनके लिए यह सफर लंबा होने के साथ ही महंगा भी है। वहीं, हल्द्वानी में इस समय काफी खुला इलाका है। हाईकोर्ट आने से यह शहर भी विकसित होगा और यहां रोजगार के नए रास्ते भी खुलेंगे।

यहां पड़ती है काफी सर्दी:
यह भी माना जा रहा है कि नैनीताल में लंबे समय या स्थायी रूप से प्रवास अन्य राज्यों से आने वाले व्यक्तियों के लिए आसान नहीं है। यहां का मौसम कुछ दिनों के पर्यटन के दृष्टिकोण से तो ठीक है लेकिन यहां काफी सर्दी पड़ती है। ऐसे में यहां गर्म वातावरण वाले राज्यों के व्यक्तियों को लंबे समय तक ठहरने में स्वास्थ्य से जुड़ी समस्या से दो-चार होना पड़ सकता है। इस कारण भी हाईकोर्ट को नैनीताल से शिफ्ट करने की मांग उठ रही थी।
