राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू ने नैनीताल में श्री मां नयना देवी मंदिर में पूजा-अर्चना की। उन्होंने देश की सुख-शांति और समृद्धि के लिए प्रार्थना की। मंदिर समिति ने उनका स्वागत किया, और राज्यपाल गुरमीत सिंह भी उनके साथ थे। राष्ट्रपति मुर्मू ने शक्तिपीठ में दर्शन कर आशीर्वाद प्राप्त किया।
राष्ट्रपति श्रीमती द्रौपदी मुर्मू ने अपने नैनीताल प्रवास के दौरान आज प्रातः शक्तिपीठ श्री मां नयना देवी मंदिर में पहुंचकर मां नयना देवी की पूजा-अर्चना की तथा राष्ट्र की सुख, शांति और खुशहाली की कामना की।
मंदिर आगमन पर मंदिर समिति के सदस्यों ने माननीय राष्ट्रपति श्रीमती मुर्मू का पुष्पगुच्छ भेंट कर स्वागत एवं अभिनंदन किया। इस दौरान राज्यपाल लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल(से.नि.) गुरमीत सिंह भी मौजूद रहे।
सुबह राष्ट्रपति का काफिला कड़े सुरक्षा प्रबंधों के बीच नैनीताल पहुंचा। स्थानीय प्रशासन और मंदिर समिति के अधिकारियों ने उनका पारंपरिक स्वागत किया। मंदिर में राष्ट्रपति ने विधिवत पूजा-अर्चना की और कुछ समय ध्यान भी लगाया।
मौके पर मौजूद पुजारियों ने बताया कि राष्ट्रपति ने देशवासियों की सुख-समृद्धि और विश्व में शांति की प्रार्थना की। इस दौरान राष्ट्रपति को मंदिर के इतिहास और नैनीताल की सांस्कृतिक विरासत के बारे में जानकारी दी गई।
राष्ट्रपति के दौरे के मद्देनज़र प्रशासन ने शहर में सुरक्षा व्यवस्था कड़ी कर दी थी। सड़कों पर पुलिस और सुरक्षाबलों की तैनाती की गई थी, ताकि आमजन को किसी तरह की असुविधा न हो।
दौरे के अगले चरण में राष्ट्रपति नैनीताल झील का निरीक्षण करेंगी और स्थानीय लोगों से संवाद भी करेंगी।
