अखिल भारतीय पुलिस खेल नियंत्रण बोर्ड (एआइपीएससीबी) की ओर से 14 से 18 दिसंबर तक 11वीं आल इंडिया पुलिस तीरंदाजी चैंपियनशिप का आयोजन रिजर्व पुलिस लाइन देहरादून में किया जाएगा।
उत्तराखंड पुलिस स्पोर्ट्स कंट्रोल बोर्ड के नेतृत्व में यह पहला मौका होगा जब उत्तराखंड इस प्रतियोगिता की मेजबानी करेगा। इससे पूर्व उत्तराखंड पुलिस की ओर से आल इंडिया पुलिस वाटर स्पोर्ट्स, बैडमिंटन, टेनिस, फुटबाल एवं एथलेटिक्स प्रतियोगिताओं की मेजबानी कर चुका है।
पुलिस महानिदेशक अशोक कुमार ने बताया कि चैंपियनशिप का उद्घाटन 14 दिसंबर को पुलिस लाइन, देहरादून में मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी करेंगे जबकि प्रतियोगिता का समापन 18 दिसम्बर को होगा। चैंपियनशिप में केंद्रीय सशस्त्र पुलिस बलों, राज्य पुलिस बलों और केंद्रीय पुलिस संगठनों की 28 टीमें हिस्सा ले रही हैं।
इनमें आंध्र प्रदेश, असम, बिहार, छत्तीसगढ़, हरियाणा, मेघालय, ओडिशा, पंजाब, राजस्थान, तमिलनाडू, झारखंड, महाराष्ट्र, मणिपुर, तेलंगाना, उत्तर प्रदेश, पश्चिम बंगाल, नागालैंड, गुजरात, उत्तराखंड, दिल्ली, जम्मू-कश्मीर, लद्दाख, बीएसएफ, आइटीबीपी, सीआरपीएफ, आरपीएफ, एसएसबी और असम राइफल्स हिस्सा ले रही हैं। पांच दिवसीय चौंपियनशिप में 334 पुरुष और महिला तीरंदाज भाग लेंगे। प्रतियोगिता में कई राष्ट्रीय-अंतरराष्ट्रीय खिलाड़ी भी प्रतिभाग कर रहे हैं।
अलकनंदा अशोक बनीं भारतीय ओलिंपिक संघ की संयुक्त सचिव
उत्तराखंड स्टेट बैडमिंटन एसोसिएशन की अध्यक्ष अलकनंदा अशोक को भारतीय ओलिंपिक संघ की संयुक्त सचिव चुना गया है। शनिवार को दिल्ली में आयोजित भारतीय ओलिंपिक संघ के चुनाव में उन्हें संयुक्त सचिव चुना गया। संयुक्त सचिव पद के लिए अलकनंदा अशोक और सुमन कौशिक मैदान में थे, जिसमें अलकनंदा ने 48-21 से जीत हासिल की।
अलकनंदा को भारतीय बैडमिंटन महासंघ की ओर से नामांकित किया गया था। अलकनंदा अशोक के पति अशोक कुमार उत्तराखंड पुलिस महानिदेशक हैं। अलकनंदा अशोक बैडमिंटन एसोसिएशन आफ इंडिया की उपाध्यक्ष और संयुक्त सचिव भी रह चुकी हैं। अलकनंदा अशोक चार बार एशियन राफ्टिंग चैंपियन रह चुकी हैं । उन्होंने राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर कायाकिंग में कांस्य पदक हासिल किया और दो बार मास्टर्स बैडमिंटन चौंपियनशिप में भारतीय टीम का प्रतिनिधित्व किया है।
अलकनंदा अशोक की बेटी कुहू गर्ग अंतरराष्ट्रीय बैडमिंटन खिलाड़ी है, जिन्होंने वर्ल्ड चैंपियनशिप में भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व कर 13 अंतरराष्ट्रीय पदक जीते हैं। भारतीय ओलंपिक संघ की संयुक्त सचिव चुने जाने पर अलकनंदा अशोक ने उत्तराखंड स्टेट बैडमिंटन एसोसिएशन और बैडमिंटन एसोसिएशन आफ इंडिया को धन्यवाद दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि उनका पूरा प्रयास रहेगा कि भारत को स्पोर्ट्स में सुपर पावर बनाया जाए।
